Jeffrey D. Link

Licensed in the Financial Securities industry in 1996, Jeff takes a comprehensive approach when working with his clients. Ever since he read the book, "Beyond Death and Taxes" by Gregory J. Englund, Jeff has been a firm believer in considering every aspect of a client's financial picture before making recommendations. He believes in proactive, coordinated communication between all his clients' financial professionals, including their tax advisor, estate planner, and personal banker. His areas of expertise include retirement accumulation and distribution planning, investment analysis, and strategies for risk management.

Clientele

Jeff's client base, for the most part, is made up of business owners, professionals, and individual investors. A portion of his practice is devoted to consulting and implementing corporate retirement plans for companies of all sizes and providing ongoing education for participants.

Background

Jeff was born in Meridian, Mississippi and raised in Endicott, New York. He attended the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He holds concentrations in Finance and Marketing and has a minor in Accounting. Upon graduation, Jeff moved to Raleigh and entered the securities industry by gaining employment as an Investment Consulting Analyst with Smith Barney. "This was a pivotal position that shaped my career. I learned how to apply independent and objective analysis to a multitude of investment vehicles, including Professional Money Managers and managed investments, which I believe provided me a greater in-depth understanding of risk and return."

Two years later Jeff joined Legg Mason, a regional brokerage firm as a Financial Advisor. In this role he cultivated his clientele by focusing on the neglected areas of their financial plan. He identified potential risks and shortfalls and recommended strategies for improvement. He represented the firm for six years until an opportunity arose to join Stifel Nicolaus, his current firm where he has worked since January 2004.

Activities

Jeff is on the Board of Directors for the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. He sits on the Finance and Development committees and has involvement with the Endowment committee. He is also an active member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and reading.

Jeff and his wife Julie have two children, Hayden and Parker.
